Reiki is not supposed to be mysterious, yet the incredible difference that it can make, even when the practitioner is in one country and the recipient is in another can leave many of us lost for words.
When I started doing Reiki 40(!!) years ago, I didn’t exactly keep it a secret, but nor did I tell many people about it. Practitioners of many alternative therapies were thought to be charlatans, witches, liars, or mad people. We were frequently objects of ridicule.
Thank goodness many things have changed over the years, I have long since stopped caring about what others think; scientific and medical studies have shown that Reiki shows benefits for:
- reducing stress and anxiety
- promoting relaxation
- improving wellbeing and quality of life
- reducing perceived pain in some people
- improving sleep
I see much more than this with many clients, but nowadays there are studies that show results. Today many hospitals, hospices, animal shelters, and more offer reiki as an alternative therapy.
But because to many. Reiki continues to be unknown and mysterious, I have created an A-Z of Reiki, to help people understand some of the language and provide the words to ask questions.
Also, on August 1, Heart centred Reiki is holding a Reiki curious event. If you have questions about reiki and would like to experience reiki energy, come along!
