February 5 was World Animal Reiki Day. To celebrate, I invited people to go into the draw to win a free Reiki session for their pet. Five pets were drawn, and the first of those five pets, Luna, received their Reiki sessions tonight. I did not know Luna and her person or anything about them, nor did I need to. Reiki works for everyone.
Tonight we caught up online for a distant Reiki session.
It was at this point that I learned Luna and her person were experiencing homelessness. Without a safe and stable place to live, it’s understandable that animals and humans can face heightened anxiety, health challenges, and ongoing uncertainty.
Luna’s person told me about some of the things Luna has dealt with in life and the extreme separation anxiety she has a result. She has had some tough times but she has love by her side at all times.
Although we were celebrating World Animal Reiki Day, I incorporated Scalar Wave therapy into Luna’s session, making it more powerful without losing the inherent gentleness of Reiki (and scalar).
Luna relaxed, and napped during the session and then was up and joyful when it was over.
I have offered Luna’s person a complimentary EFT, (tapping) session when the five Reiki sessions are over because it is so effective for separation anxiety.
What a privilege this session was. I look forward to the others over the next few weeks.
